Electrical Engineer
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical design and a particular interest in power systems studies. This role involves supporting the analysis, modeling, and optimization of electrical power systems for a variety of projects, while also contributing to broader electrical engineering tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform power systems studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination.
- Develop and analyze single-line diagrams and system models using industry-standard software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar).
- Support the design and specification of electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, and protection schemes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power systems into larger engineering projects.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client use.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E).
- Assist in field investigations, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with exposure to power systems analysis.
- Familiarity with power systems modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, CYME).
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, protection principles, and system reliability.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with utility interconnection studies or renewable energy integration.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards related to power systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is a plus.
- Master's degree in Power Systems or related discipline is advantageous.
