Position Overview:
The client is on the hunt for a bold and innovative problem-solver to join their Chicago team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical evaluation and design of exterior wall systems, including curtain walls, cladding, and glazing assemblies.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and contractors to ensure performance, constructability, and compliance.
- Conduct site visits to observe installation, troubleshoot issues, and perform field testing (e.g., air and water infiltration).
- Review shop drawings, specifications, and submittals for technical accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
- Support business development efforts through client engagement and proposal input.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in façade consulting, building envelope design, or curtain wall systems.
- Strong understanding of building physics, materials performance, and structural behaviour of façade systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and other modeling tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and project meetings.
