Position Overview:

The client is on the hunt for a bold and innovative problem-solver to join their Chicago team. This is more than just a technical role-it's a chance to be at the forefront of shaping iconic skylines and redefining what's possible in building design. You'll be immersed in high-profile, architecturally daring projects across the U.S. and beyond, working alongside a passionate team that thrives on pushing boundaries. From concept to construction, your expertise will drive solutions that blend engineering precision with creative vision-making a lasting impact on the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical evaluation and design of exterior wall systems, including curtain walls, cladding, and glazing assemblies.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and contractors to ensure performance, constructability, and compliance.
  • Conduct site visits to observe installation, troubleshoot issues, and perform field testing (e.g., air and water infiltration).
  • Review shop drawings, specifications, and submittals for technical accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement and proposal input.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in façade consulting, building envelope design, or curtain wall systems.
  • Strong understanding of building physics, materials performance, and structural behaviour of façade systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and other modeling tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines.
  • Willingness to travel for site inspections and project meetings.
