Field SCADA Engineer (Ignition - Data Centers)
A client-facing, field-based role focused on deploying, commissioning, and validating Ignition SCADA systems within mission-critical data center environments. This position involves 50-60% travel and is heavily hands-on, ensuring systems are properly implemented and fully operational rather than developed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and commission Ignition SCADA systems for BMS/EPMS applications at client sites
- Perform point-to-point verification of graphics, data points, alarms, and control sequences
- Support system testing, validation, and integration during commissioning phases
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and troubleshoot issues across live environments
- Validate data flow between SCADA interfaces, PLCs, databases, and historians
- Work directly with clients during system turnover, training, and go-live support
- Document commissioning activities and track resolution of field issues
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience with Ignition SCADA (especially Perspective)
- Strong hands-on commissioning and validation experience (SCADA/BMS systems)
- Experience with PLCs, data integration, and troubleshooting live systems
- Comfortable working independently onsite and interacting with clients
- Willingness to travel 50-60%
Preferred
- Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments
- Knowledge of SQL, historians, MQTT
- Background in UAT, QA, and large-scale commissioning projects
