Field Service Representative
Position Overview
The Field Service Representative is responsible for the hands-on operation and maintenance of an advanced wastewater treatment facility. This role involves supporting system commissioning, ensuring compliance with water quality standards, and assisting with site tours and customer engagement. The representative will serve as a key liaison between field operations and internal teams, ensuring optimal system performance and client satisfaction.
This position requires a solid understanding of wastewater treatment practices, regulatory compliance, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers, contractors, and clients. Occasional travel to other installations across the U.S. may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and optimize treatment systems and equipment
- Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with operational contracts
- Maintain inventory of parts and chemicals
- Conduct analytical testing and interpret water quality data
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Maintain site documentation and provide technical summaries
- Collaborate with safety teams to ensure OSHA compliance
- Support the development of operational protocols and training materials
Typical Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment
- Manage chemical dosing systems and instrumentation
- Conduct cleanings and repairs of process equipment
- Use SCADA and PLC systems for remote monitoring and control
- Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or municipal water/wastewater operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with digestor systems and relevant state certifications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
- Experience with MBR and RO systems, P&IDs, and automation platforms
- Strong understanding of lab testing and water quality analysis
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Degree or certification in a STEM field
- State wastewater operator license or in progress
- Knowledge of membrane processes, microbiology, and control systems
- Hands-on experience with industrial wastewater reuse systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Reside within 30 minutes of the facility location
