Geotechnical Project Engineer

We are seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join a collaborative and dynamic team delivering complex forensic engineering and construction consulting services. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and detail-oriented professional to contribute to a wide range of challenging projects across Southern California.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and forensic evaluations related to foundation systems, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthwork.
- Perform site reconnaissance, field inspections, and subsurface explorations.
- Analyze geotechnical data and prepare technical reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, architects, and construction professionals.
- Support litigation and insurance-related investigations by preparing documentation, exhibits, and expert reports.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications under the guidance of senior staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- 4-8 years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably with exposure to forensic or failure analysis.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, LPILE, SLOPE/W, PLAXIS) and AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel locally for site visits and inspections.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with forensic engineering, construction defect analysis, or expert witness support.
- Familiarity with Southern California geology and regulatory environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
