MEP Preconstruction Manager (Mechanical Focused)

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive MEP Preconstruction Manager to lead the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scope during the preconstruction phase of our projects. This role is critical in ensuring technical accuracy, cost efficiency, and seamless coordination of MEP systems from concept through construction handoff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP design and estimating efforts during preconstruction, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to review and influence MEP system design and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and value engineering recommendations to optimize system efficiency and cost.
  • Manage MEP bid packages, scope development, and subcontractor engagement.
  • Review and validate MEP estimates, budgets, and constructability analyses.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including development, design, and construction to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Stay current on MEP technologies, codes, and industry trends to inform project strategies.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, presentations, and client meetings.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in MEP design, estimating, or construction management, with a strong focus on preconstruction.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, energy standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Proficiency in estimating and modeling software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or LEED accreditation is a plus.
