Senior / Associate Director - Town Planning (Statutory Focus)

We are partnering with a highly regarded, specialist town planning consultancy experiencing strong project growth and expansion across NSW and ACT. Due to continued success and a clear growth strategy, they are seeking a Senior to Director-level Town Planner to join their team. This is a key hire offering the opportunity to play a leadership role in delivering high-quality statutory planning advice while contributing to the company's ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage statutory planning projects from inception through to approval
Provide expert advice on NSW and ACT planning frameworks, including DA preparation, planning assessments, and approvals
Liaise with local councils, government authorities, and key stakeholders to drive project outcomes
Manage and grow a portfolio of client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
Oversee project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and commercial outcomes are achieved
Mentor and support junior planners within the team
Contribute to bid preparation, client development, and business growth initiatives
Requirements
Extensive experience in statutory town planning within Australia (NSW/ACT highly preferred)
Strong knowledge of relevant planning legislation and approval processes
Proven ability to manage complex development applications
Demonstrated experience in client management and stakeholder engagement
Experience in project management, including budgeting and delivery oversight
Strong communication and report-writing skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience in business development, including winning work and expanding client relationships
Leadership or team management experience
Established network within the NSW or ACT planning market
