Principal Project Manager - New England
Our client is a nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure consulting firm supporting some of the most critical energy projects across North America. As demand for grid modernization and utility expansion continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead the delivery of transmission and substation projects from planning through commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-impact projects, collaborate with industry-leading professionals, and play a key role in strengthening the electric grid.
- Lead transmission and substation projects throughout the entire project life cycle.
- Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining strong project controls.
- Manage communication between clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee project forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Provide technical leadership and support to cross-functional project teams.
- Travel to project sites and client locations as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience managing utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in transmission line and/or substation projects.
- Experience overseeing large capital projects from conception through completion.
- Knowledge of utility engineering, construction practices, and project controls.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- PMP certification is a plus.
