Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 + incentives

Location: Miami, FL

Our business partner is seeking a dynamic Principal to lead and expand its Miami office. This is an entrepreneurial leadership role focused on driving business development, overseeing project delivery, and building a high-performing local team.

This position is ideal for a senior industry leader with strong business development instincts, technical expertise, and operational management experience. The Principal will lead market growth efforts, cultivate client relationships, ensure high-quality project execution, and guide the development of office staff.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Leadership

  • Lead all business development activities in the Miami market
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new clients, projects, and strategic partnerships
  • Represent the firm at industry events and networking opportunities
  • Develop and execute local growth strategies aligned with broader business objectives

Operational & Financial Leadership

  • Oversee project delivery from initiation to completion
  • Manage office P&L, ensuring financial health and profitability
  • Strengthen and enforce QA/QC processes to maintain technical excellence
  • Implement operational systems to support scalable office growth

Team Mentorship

  • Develop, and mentor engineering and project management staff
  • Establish and grow a collaborative and growth-oriented office culture
  • Provide technical leadership and professional development support

Client Service & Project Oversight

  • Act as the key point of contact for key clients
  • Ensure project outcomes meet standards for quality, schedule, and budget
  • Oversee risk management, contract compliance, and project governance

About You

  • Proven ability to win work and develop long-term client relationships
  • 12+ years of experience in structural engineering or related AEC discipline
  • Licensed PE required; SE preferred
  • Experience managing P&L and leading project portfolios
  • Demonstrated capability in building and developing teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to establish and grow an office

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary between $150,000 - $200,000, depending on experience
