Background: A well-established, member-owned electric cooperative in Oklahoma is seeking a Professional Engineer to help lead the planning, design, and reliability of its electric distribution system. With decades of service to rural communities, this cooperative is known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and delivering dependable power to thousands of homes and businesses.
Location: Vinita, OK (In-Person)
Responsibilities:
- Design and manage electric distribution system upgrades and expansions
- Conduct system analysis and ensure compliance with NESC, NEC, OSHA, and RUS standards
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors
- Support smart grid planning and system automation
- Lead infrastructure planning and assist with disaster response
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred
- PE license preferred or ability to obtain
- 10-15 years of experience in electric utility distribution
- Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and utility operations
- Experience with FTTH systems is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Milsoft)
