About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Geologist (PG) to lead and manage environmental remediation and compliance projects across Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Pennsylvania's regulatory programs, including Act 2, Underground Storage Tank (UST) Corrective Action, and USTIF, and demonstrate strong leadership, project oversight, and client management capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of environmental projects while mentoring junior staff and strengthening long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager and technical lead for environmental investigation and remediation projects across Pennsylvania.
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
- Manage sites under the Pennsylvania Land Recycling Program (Act 2), including preparation/review of remedial investigation reports, cleanup plans, and attainment documentation.
- Direct corrective action activities for Underground Storage Tank (UST) projects under Pennsylvania's UST regulations and guidance.
- Manage claims, reporting, and project execution for sites funded by the Underground Storage Tank Indemnification Fund (USTIF).
- Provide technical expertise on hydrogeologic evaluations, soil and groundwater characterization, remediation system design/optimization, and regulatory strategy.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level staff.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients; identify opportunities for additional services.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a high standard of technical excellence in all deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in the environmental space
- Active Pennsylvania Professional Geologist (PG) License (required).
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental projects within Pennsylvania's Act 2 Land Recycling Program.
- Proven experience with Pennsylvania's Underground Storage Tank Corrective Action Process.
- Hands-on management experience with projects funded by the Underground Storage Tank Indemnification Fund (USTIF).
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.
- Prior supervisory experience, including staff development and performance oversight.
- Experience managing client accounts, maintaining relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a consulting firm environment.
- Knowledge of federal RCRA/CERCLA programs
- Familiarity with environmental remediation technologies and risk-based cleanup approaches.
