Project Director -Water Business
The Project Director will lead complex, high-profile Design-Build and service projects within the water and wastewater sector. This role requires full project ownership-from strategic oversight to day-to-day execution-ensuring delivery across quality, safety, budget, client engagement, and team coordination.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Execution
- Oversee the planning and delivery of large-scale projects with a focus on safety, cost control, schedule adherence, and quality assurance
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for all project scope, compliance, and client satisfaction
- Lead and coordinate interdisciplinary teams, including external partners and subcontractors
- Ensure seamless integration of engineering, procurement, construction, and startup operations
Business Development & Strategy
- Drive opportunity identification, pursuit strategies, and proposal development
- Guide marketing efforts and lead negotiations from prospecting through contract
- Be accountable for growth objectives and successful project acquisition
Client Engagement & Market Presence
- Foster strong relationships with clients through active participation in strategic initiatives and industry events
- Collaborate on market analysis and development of long-term regional strategies
- Enhance the organization's profile and visibility within key industry networks
Project Oversight
- Define, monitor, and deliver on performance goals in collaboration with internal teams and client stakeholders
- Supervise engineering leadership and maintain consistent oversight of financials and reporting
- Guide project performance reviews, billing, and risk management
Talent Development & Team Culture
- Champion performance coaching, mentoring, and advancement planning for team members
- Recommend staff development initiatives and contribute to talent acquisition efforts
Preferred Qualifications
- 13+ years of water/wastewater project experience with proven leadership in the Texas market
- Professional Engineering License and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- Strong command of project financials and contract negotiation
