Project Engineer (4-8 Years Experience)

Salary Range: $90,000-$125,000

A well‑established civil engineering firm in the Kennewick area is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4 to 8 years of experience. This role is ideal for someone passionate about land development who wants to broaden their technical skills, contribute to meaningful infrastructure and site development projects, and grow within a collaborative team environment.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and oversee project tasks while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Lead civil design efforts for site development and public works components of commercial and industrial projects.
  • Prepare site design, grading, utility, erosion control, and stormwater management plans.
  • Work on projects through the entire lifecycle-from concept to construction support.
  • Collaborate daily with senior engineering staff on project execution.
  • Communicate directly with clients, public agencies, and key project stakeholders.
  • Be part of a supportive team culture that values collaboration, professional growth, and community.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self‑directed, organized, and detail‑oriented.
  • Interest in contributing to a positive, team‑oriented work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with land development for commercial or industrial projects.
  • Public works design experience.
  • Familiarity with local permitting processes and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D.
  • Experience with tools such as HydroCAD, HEC‑RAS, Flowmaster, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, and Bluebeam.
  • Friendly, collaborative personality with a desire to learn and grow.
