Role Overview

A well-established contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of treatment plant, pump station, and facility upgrade projects across New England. The company is known for technically demanding work, strong execution, and a culture built around accountability, teamwork, and doing meaningful projects that support public health and critical infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to join an organization that focuses almost entirely on complex water and wastewater work, giving project leaders the chance to stay close to technically interesting projects from preconstruction through start-up, commissioning, and closeout. The role is well suited for someone who can manage schedule, client communication, profitability, and coordination across superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from preconstruction through construction, start-up, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Manage schedule, client and engineer communication, project documentation, and overall financial performance.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, procurement, change management, and issue resolution throughout the life of the project.
  • Support the successful execution of treatment facility upgrades, system expansions, and related infrastructure projects where quality, sequencing, and communication are critical.

What They're Looking For

  • Proven Project Manager experience in water, wastewater, pump station, or treatment plant construction.
  • Strong ability to manage both the technical and commercial sides of a project, including schedule, profitability, and team coordination.
  • Experience working with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field leadership on complex municipal or industrial infrastructure jobs.
  • Comfortable operating across all project phases with a strong understanding of how mechanical, civil, process, and facility work come together in the field.
  • A collaborative, proactive leadership style and the ability to keep multiple moving parts organized and advancing.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • You'd be joining a contractor focused on essential water and wastewater infrastructure, not generic vertical construction.
  • The company has a long-standing presence in the region, a respected reputation in its niche, and a strong portfolio of treatment and pump station work.
  • The culture emphasizes ownership, safety, training, and long-term career growth, with benefits that support both professional development and personal stability.
  • This is a strong opportunity for a PM who wants to work on meaningful infrastructure, be trusted with real responsibility, and be part of a team that takes pride in its work.
