Remote: Renewables Structural Engineer III
Company/Role Summary
A leading EPC of Renewable Energy projects is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our project execution team, supporting large-scale utility solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substation projects. This pivotal role ensures the structural integrity, constructability, and performance of all foundation systems. The engineer will collaborate closely with design teams, subcontractors, and project managers to deliver high-quality structural and foundation solutions from initial design through project closeout. The company is highly successful and has been around for over 60+ years!
Responsibilities
- Review geotechnical reports, foundation design criteria, and structural calculations to validate assumptions and constructability.
- Oversee design and construction of various foundation types (piers, piles, spread footings, equipment pads).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper integration of foundations with electrical and structural systems.
- Evaluate and approve foundation-related submittals, material testing reports, and concrete mix designs.
- Conduct site visits for installation oversight, layout verification, and compliance with design intent.
- Lead investigations of foundation issues, support as-built documentation, and maintain detailed engineering records.
Qualifications
- BS in Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering (with structural focus), or related
- Minimum 5+ years in Utility Scale PV, BESS, Wind, or energy infrastructure projects
- Strong foundation in structural analysis, geotechnical interaction, and foundation design, with proficiency in interpreting structural drawings and rebar details.
- Familiar with industry standards including ACI, AISC, ASCE, and ASTM.
- Skilled in structural and civil design software such as RISA, STAAD, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving abilities and professional interaction skills.
- Experienced in multidisciplinary collaboration and managing priorities in fast-paced EPC environments.
- Willing to travel to project sites and conduct field evaluations; proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
