Remote Senior Electrical Engineer Gas Power Generation

About the Role
Our client provides specialized consulting and engineering support for organizations involved in power‑generation projects. Their work spans technical assessments, project optimization, and analysis of commercial, environmental, and financial factors linked to major energy initiatives.
Position Summary
The individual in this role will support early‑stage project development, perform conceptual electrical design tasks, and act in an advisory/owner's‑engineer capacity for power‑generation facilities. Key responsibilities include evaluating the electrical systems of thermal power projects, conducting design reviews, performing technical due diligence, and supporting clients through development and planning phases.
This role may also include involvement in cost and economic studies, risk evaluations, and contributing to contract‑related scopes. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Required Background
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- A minimum of seven years ofhands‑on experience in the power industry, with strong exposure tomedium‑voltage electrical system design forutility‑scale thermal generation facilities such as:
- Simple‑cycle gas turbine plants
- Combined‑cycle installations
- Coal‑based generation
- Reciprocating engine (RICE) projects
- Experience supporting project development and conceptual design for thermal power facilities.
- Excellent writing and technical communication skills.
- Must already have U.S. work authorization; the employer is unable to offer sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with owner's‑engineer or technical‑due‑diligence reviews for thermal generation projects.
- Broad understanding of power‑plant operations and performance evaluation.
- Awareness of process‑engineering fundamentals used in power‑generation environments.
- Experience related to cost assessments, economic modeling, or contract support.
- Knowledge of international design practices, codes, and standards.

Compensation
Estimated pay range: $100,000 - $160,000+ depending on experience.
