Job Description:
A leading engineering and management firm is seeking an experienced engineer with 10+ years of construction management and/or resident engineer experience on large steel and concrete bridge projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in overseeing on-site bridge construction activities, acting as the client's representative to ensure compliance with design plans and specifications, and managing project schedules and quality control. Key duties include conducting inspections, reviewing contractor submittals and reports, resolving technical issues, addressing Requests for Information (RFIs), managing change orders, and maintaining project documentation and communication between stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Supervise daily construction activities, manage project schedules, and ensure work adheres to approved plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections, review material submittals, and ensure construction meets quality control requirements.
- Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary on-site technical contact, resolving engineering challenges and coordinating with design teams and contractors.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare daily and progress reports, maintain project records, and manage all correspondence and document control.
- Contract & Cost Management: Track and process contractor submittals, RFIs, and payment estimates. Review and manage change orders, assessing their impact on cost and schedule.
- Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication between the client, contractor, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and execution.
- Safety Management: Monitor work zone safety and ensure compliance with all relevant safety policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management (civil or structural preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to transfer license.
- 10+ years of experience in bridge construction inspection and project management.
- Significant bridge design experience, with preference for steel bridge design.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in project management software, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Salary:
Minimum expectation: $150,000 (final amount depends on qualifications).
