Roadway Engineer Project Manager
Our client, a respected engineering firm, is seeking a Roadway Project Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects throughout North Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional with 8+ years of experience who is ready to manage complex roadway projects, mentor junior staff, and build strong client relationships.
The Roadway Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing roadway design projects from concept through construction
- Overseeing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Coordinating with NCDOT, municipalities, and private clients
- Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Ensuring compliance with NCDOT and AASHTO standards
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Supporting business development and proposal efforts
- Representing the firm at client meetings and public forums
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 8 years of roadway/transportation engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of NCDOT standards and procedures
- Experience with roadway design, geometric layout, and plan production
- Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK, or OpenRoads
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
