Senior Airport Project Manager
An established aviation program is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support major terminal and airfield projects on‑site in Norfolk, VA. The role will span 2026-2029, depending on project assignments.
Overview
You will oversee terminal expansions, building facilities work, and airfield pavement improvements. The position supports program leadership, coordinates with design and construction teams, and manages project delivery from planning through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects on time and within scope, budget, quality, and risk parameters.
- Support program leadership with project management expertise and contractor oversight.
- Coordinate with designers, construction managers, and stakeholders to secure approvals.
- Assist with federal and state grant processes through construction and closeout.
- Manage permitting, site logistics, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor project progress, implement change control, and support reviews in safety, quality, and environmental areas.
- Contribute to procurement planning and contract management.
- Inspect contractor work for adherence to plans and specifications.
- Build familiarity with FAA advisory circulars and relevant environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, project management, or related field.
- 8+ years of project or program management experience.
- Experience delivering large airport or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to obtain a SIDA badge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (PE, PMP, CCM) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in aviation or major infrastructure programs.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and AutoCAD.
