We're partnering with a nationally recognized multidisciplinary firm to find a Principal Ecologist ready to lead and grow a Natural Resources practice in Texas. About the Role:
As the Natural Resources Practice Lead, you'll be responsible for developing and leading a team focused on ecological services, including wetland delineation, Section 404 permitting, habitat assessments, and conservation planning. You'll also play a key role in business development-cultivating client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and helping drive strategic growth across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing natural resources team.
- Oversee ecological and regulatory projects, including wetland delineations, Section 404/401 permitting, NEPA, ESA, and habitat restoration.
- Lead business development efforts, including proposal development, client engagement, and market strategy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex, high-impact projects.
- Serve as a technical expert and mentor to junior staff.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 10+ years of experience in ecology, biology, or natural resources consulting.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to build and manage teams.
- Expertise in wetland delineation and Section 404 permitting.
- Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., USACE, USFWS, TPWD).
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience working within or alongside large multidisciplinary firms is a plus.
