Senior Electrical Designer
An employee-owned engineering firm is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Designer to join its collaborative team. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to establish project design criteria, interpret applicable building and energy codes, and lead the design of comprehensive electrical systems for a variety of building types.
- Provide expert input on equipment selection, system calculations, and layout development for building services, grounding systems, emergency power, lighting, and building power distribution.
- Lead the design and coordination of low-voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, telecommunications, and other specialty systems.
- Oversee the production of high-quality construction documents and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to the development of best practices within the electrical design team.
- Participate in site visits and provide technical support throughout the construction phase.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical system design, preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
- Experience with healthcare and/or educational facility projects is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a collaborative setting.
