About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, code-compliant solutions. This role includes both technical leadership and project management responsibilities, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to business development.
Responsibilities
- Develop complete construction documents including drawings, specifications, and power system studies.
- Design medium and low voltage systems, single-line diagrams, and equipment layouts.
- Lead lighting design (interior and exterior), ensuring compliance with IESNA standards.
- Participate in design and construction phase services, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and AHJ coordination.
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Present design concepts to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices.
- Manage small teams and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure project profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- PE license in Electrical Engineering (licensed for at least 3 years).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design for buildings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with California Title-24 Part 6 Energy Code.
- Experience with OSHPD/HCAi projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-family, commercial, institutional, and higher education projects.
- Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), PVsyst, SKM, and/or ETAP.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Experience with DSA and T-24 compliance (for California-based candidates).
Compensation & Benefits
- Paid overtime at 1.0x hourly rate.
- Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.
