Industrial Electrician - Installation
Overview
A growing automation and systems integration business is expanding its installation team and is looking to hire multiple Industrial Electricians at both journeyman and senior levels.
This role focuses on hands-on industrial electrical installation across a variety of manufacturing and automation environments, including control systems, machinery, and full plant projects.
The position is best suited to individuals who enjoy working on diverse projects, travelling to different sites, and taking ownership of installation work from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform industrial electrical installations on automation systems, machinery, and control panels
- Install, wire, and terminate control systems including PLC panels, MCCs, and associated equipment
- Support commissioning and start-up of systems on client sites
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and layout plans
- Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
- For senior candidates: lead site installations, supervise crews, and take ownership of project execution
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician in manufacturing, automation, or industrial environments
- Strong installation background (not purely maintenance-focused)
- Experience with control panels, motor controls, and industrial systems
- Ability to read and work from electrical drawings and schematics
- Journeyman qualification or equivalent experience
- For senior hires: experience leading projects or supervising installation teams
Travel
- Approximately 45% travel for candidates within commutable distance
- Travel is primarily nationwide, with flights required for non-local projects
- This role is suited to individuals comfortable with a travelling, project-based lifestyle
