Overview:
An established, 100% employee-owned engineering firm with over 40 years of industry experience is seeking a Senior MES Engineer for a leadership role based in Raleigh, NC. This position plays a key part in delivering high-quality MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solutions to clients, particularly in regulated industries such as Life Sciences. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and leadership abilities, a problem-solving mindset, and a focus on efficiency and long-term client partnerships.
Role Summary:
This role involves leading MES solution design, development, and implementation-from requirements gathering through testing and commissioning. The Senior MES Engineer will act as a solution architect, guide engineering teams, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement MES strategies and solutions (e.g., Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, POMS)
Manage full project lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, and startup
Lead project teams and manage projects up to $1M in value
Develop and implement Electronic Batch Records (EBR) using GAMP5, S88, and S95 standards
Ensure integration with systems such as DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, PI, and Maximo
Understand and apply regulatory requirements (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11)
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
Interface with clients to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Sciences
10+ years of experience in MES solution development, ideally in Life Sciences
Strong background in:
Manufacturing and warehouse operations within GMP environments
MES integration with OT/IT systems
Database technologies (SQL, Oracle)
Industrial networking and data historians
Proven experience in team leadership and project management
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to travel up to 25%
