Senior Project Manager - Construction (Plumbing & Mechanical Focus)

Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, multi-million-dollar construction projects with a focus on plumbing and mechanical systems. This role demands a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, drive profitability, and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Serve as an expert in all Level 1 Project Manager responsibilities, demonstrating continued proficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a minimum of 3-5 clients, generating repeat business at above-industry profitability.
  • Collaborate with Estimating teams on bidding and negotiating new projects.
  • Achieve consistent cost savings of 5% through strategic material/equipment buyouts and labor budgeting.
  • Identify and oversee pre-fabrication opportunities, including drawing and sizing equipment piping connections.
  • Support Superintendents in all aspects of project execution: setup, material handling, labor efficiency, quality control, and safety.
  • Obtain and maintain a Journeyman Plumbing License.
  • Mentor and train Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators for career progression.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate claims; negotiate claims when necessary.
  • Negotiate contracts and assist peers with challenging project situations.
  • Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes.
  • Manage Design/Build projects with a deep understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of project-related policies and procedures alongside the Executive Committee.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager on multi-million-dollar construction projects.
  • College degree in a related field or 5+ years of field experience.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
  • Journeyman Plumbing License (or willingness to obtain).
  • Expertise in plumbing and mechanical systems, including design/build project management.
