Senior Quality Manager - Construction
An established construction organization is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities on complex, large-scale projects. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the project quality program from preconstruction through final turnover, while partnering closely with project leadership and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive Project Quality Management Plan
- Establish and manage quality control procedures across all phases of construction
- Oversee inspection activities, including phased inspections and verification of work in place
- Identify, track, and resolve quality issues, including non-conformances and corrective actions
- Manage quality-related documentation, reporting, and closeout processes
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined before construction issuance
- Coordinate punch list development and ensure timely resolution to achieve project acceptance
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to project teams
- Mentor and develop quality professionals, engineers, and project staff
- Deliver training on quality processes, continuous improvement, and visual management tools
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement on-site
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or design-build environments
- Proven experience leading a project-level quality program on complex projects
- Working knowledge of recognized quality frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of inspection processes, issue resolution, and corrective action management
- Experience working in fast-paced, highly coordinated project teams
- Ability to lead, coach, and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and ability to work on active construction sites
