About the Role
As a Structural Solar Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and optimizing structural systems for commercial and utility-scale solar installations. You'll work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure our solar arrays are not only efficient and cost-effective but also structurally sound and compliant with all relevant codes and standards.
Your designs will support ground-mounted systems, rooftop installations, and solar carports, integrating cutting-edge materials and technologies. From concept development to final construction documentation, you'll play a critical role in every phase of the project life-cycle.
This position can sit 100% remote from any state within the US. Salary will be commensurate by years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop structural designs and calculations for solar PV systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of structural and electrical components.
- Work on pile design, foundation and racking system design.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and permit packages.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and innovations in solar structural engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- PE license is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in structural design, preferably in solar or renewable energy.
- Experience with hands on design & technical engineering - engineering consultancy experience a huge plus.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
