We're seeking a Structural Solar Design Engineer to join our dynamic team and help shape the next generation of solar infrastructure.

About the Role

As a Structural Solar Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and optimizing structural systems for commercial and utility-scale solar installations. You'll work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure our solar arrays are not only efficient and cost-effective but also structurally sound and compliant with all relevant codes and standards.

Your designs will support ground-mounted systems, rooftop installations, and solar carports, integrating cutting-edge materials and technologies. From concept development to final construction documentation, you'll play a critical role in every phase of the project life-cycle.

This position can sit 100% remote from any state within the US. Salary will be commensurate by years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop structural designs and calculations for solar PV systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of structural and electrical components.
  • Work on pile design, foundation and racking system design.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and permit packages.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and innovations in solar structural engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PE license is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in structural design, preferably in solar or renewable energy.
  • Experience with hands on design & technical engineering - engineering consultancy experience a huge plus.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
