Senior Wildlife Biologist

A well-established environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Wildlife Biologist to join its growing team in California. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced biologist who is passionate about conservation, regulatory compliance, and mentoring the next generation of scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct field surveys for wildlife and habitat assessments
  • Prepare and review technical documents, including CEQA/NEPA reports and permit applications
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relationships
  • Provide strategic input on mitigation and conservation planning
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and field teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Ecology, Wildlife Science, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in wildlife biology or environmental consulting
  • Strong knowledge of California ecosystems and special-status species
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations (CEQA, ESA, CESA, Clean Water Act)
  • Scientific collecting permits (e.g., USFWS 10(a)(1)(A)) are a plus
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork in diverse environments
