Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Geologist to join our Client's environmental consulting team in Oakland, CA. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in geology and environmental fieldwork who are passionate about contributing to site investigations and remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, and surface water for a variety of contaminants.
- Assist with environmental remediation activities, including site preparation, system installation, and monitoring.
- Support drilling operations, including oversight of subcontractors and logging of soil borings.
- Prepare technical reports, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation plans, and regulatory submittals.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other geologists to support project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental consulting or a similar role.
- Familiarity with sampling protocols, remediation technologies, and drilling techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel locally for field assignments and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Preferred Skills
- G.I.T. certification or the ability to acquire
- Experience with GIS, environmental modeling software, or data visualization tools.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of California environmental regulations and permitting processes.
