Substation Project Manager

We are seeking a highly organized, detail‑driven Project Manager with proven experience overseeing EPC‑focused substation projects.


Primary Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead all phases of project delivery-planning, execution, and closeout-ensuring work remains on schedule, within the defined scope, and aligned with budget and profitability goals.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cash‑flow projections, and resource allocation plans.
  • Build work breakdown structures and assign tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings, clarify scope and expectations, and hold ongoing team meetings to maintain progress and accountability.
  • Identify project risks early and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate them.
  • Track project performance, issue routine progress updates, and manage formal project close‑out activities.

Client Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as the primary project representative and maintain strong working relationships with client contacts.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, ideally within 48 hours.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Meet with clients to gather requirements, communicate updates, and address concerns.
  • Provide regular project status reports according to established reporting standards.

Team Leadership & Internal Collaboration

  • Promote clear communication within the division to ensure alignment on staffing needs, workloads, and deadlines.
  • Work with leadership to resolve conflicts in scheduling or resource availability.
  • Proactively remove bottlenecks that may delay team progress.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the development of project proposals by collaborating with leadership to establish cost estimates, delivery timelines, and required approvals.

Performance Management & Administrative Duties

  • Participate in mid‑month WIP meetings to provide project updates and feedback.
  • Share input with supervisors regarding team member performance to support evaluations and professional development.
  • Complete daily time and expense reporting accurately.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or 10 years of project management experience.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing transmission and substation projects.
  • Experience collaborating directly with material manufacturers involved in transmission line or high‑voltage substation design and development.
