A leading national infrastructure and engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Transportation Strategy Leader to spearhead its transportation planning and business development efforts across Texas. This high-impact role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep industry relationships, strategic vision, and a passion for advancing transportation solutions in one of the nation's most dynamic markets.

Position Overview:

As a senior leader, you will drive the growth of the firm's transportation planning practice by cultivating client relationships, leading strategic pursuits, and representing the firm in key industry forums. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to shape and execute business strategies that expand the firm's footprint across Texas and support broader regional growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development efforts across Texas, with a focus on TxDOT districts, toll authorities (e.g., HCTRA, NTTA), and regional transportation agencies.
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans, including client engagement strategies, capture planning, and pursuit execution.
  • Build and manage high-performing client teams composed of project managers, technical experts, and marketing professionals.
  • Serve as a senior advisor and technical lead on high-profile transportation planning and engineering projects.
  • Represent the firm in professional organizations and industry boards, enhancing visibility and influence in the transportation sector.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align Texas market strategies with national and regional business goals.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in transportation planning, engineering, or business development.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • Proven track record of securing and managing major transportation contracts in Texas.
  • Strong familiarity with TxDOT, toll authorities, and regional transportation agencies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel within Texas and occasionally to other regions as needed.
