Lead Traffic & ITS Engineer- Florida-Based Opportunity
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Traffic & ITS Engineer to lead and manage transportation infrastructure projects across Florida. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on high-impact signalization, lighting, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects for state and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering design and project management for signalization, lighting, and ITS initiatives.
- Oversee quality control and conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Serve as Project Manager and Engineer of Record for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate directly with public agency clients and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and contract pursuits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven ability to manage and review complex signalization, lighting, ITS, and electrical engineering tasks.
- Proficiency in developing engineering plans using CADD software.
- Experience preparing plan sets for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and/or local municipalities.
- Familiarity with lighting analysis tools such as AGi32 or similar software.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as they relate to transportation systems.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with at least 7 years of relevant experience in traffic signalization, lighting, and/or ITS.
- Demonstrated experience working with FDOT and/or Florida counties and municipalities.
