Transportation Engineer

My client is seeking experienced, senior-level professionals in transportation engineering to lead and grow our highway, bridge, and traffic practice areas. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our North Texas operations and make a lasting impact on regional infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex transportation projects (TxDOT and municipal) from planning through construction.
  • Serve as a technical expert in one or more of the following: highway design, bridge/structural engineering, or traffic engineering/operations.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor junior staff and support team development.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth, client development, and proposal pursuits.
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • PE license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering.
  • Proven experience managing TxDOT or municipal projects.
  • Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards, specifications, and precertifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.

Preferred Expertise:

  • TxDOT precertifications in relevant categories (e.g., roadway design, bridge design, traffic studies).
  • Familiarity with tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, HCS, Synchro, or similar.
  • Experience with business development and proposal writing.

Location & Flexibility:

  • Based in Dallas, TX with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or project needs.
