Water / Wastewater Engineer - Salt Lake City, UT
We are working with a well established engineering consulting firm seeking a Water / Wastewater Engineer to support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects across the Salt Lake City region. This role is best suited for someone with a strong technical background who wants to stay closely involved in design while contributing to project execution and client delivery.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse set of projects including treatment facilities, conveyance systems, and distribution infrastructure, with exposure across planning, design, and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
* Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications
* Support projects involving treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations, and storage facilities
* Perform hydraulic modeling and system analysis for water and wastewater systems
* Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project delivery
* Review design work and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
* Support construction phase services including submittal review and RFIs
Technical Experience
* Experience in water or wastewater system design, including treatment or conveyance
* Strong foundation in hydraulic calculations and engineering analysis
* Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant modeling software (e.g. WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, or similar)
* Understanding of municipal infrastructure design standards and permitting processes
* Experience supporting projects from concept through construction
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
* Professional Engineer license or working toward licensure
* 5+ years of relevant experience in water or wastewater engineering
* Ability to contribute technically while working collaboratively within a team environment
* Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients and stakeholders
