Job Description:
A well-established engineering firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a comprehensive understanding of municipal and/or industrial water and wastewater projects-from marketing through project development, design, and commissioning. This role involves direct client interaction, oversight of project design, and management of engineering budgets exceeding six figures. Candidates should have a strong technical background and be capable of identifying new project opportunities, writing proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing sub consultants. Strong interpersonal, client management, and time management skills are essential. While the ability to work in the firm's Boise, Idaho office is preferred, remote arrangements may be considered, especially for candidates with an existing client base. Part-time employment may also be an option.
Job Summary:
The Water/Wastewater Project Manager will be instrumental in delivering projects for municipal and industrial clients. This includes client interfacing and leading internal project teams to successful outcomes. Candidates must have a solid technical foundation in water and/or wastewater process design and experience coordinating project deliverables. Responsibilities also include marketing efforts such as proposal writing and conference participation. The Project Manager will take full ownership of project delivery and client satisfaction.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering (or equivalent)
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Familiarity with AutoCAD products (e.g., Civil 3D, Plant 3D, Revit) preferred
- Proficiency in hydraulic and process design software (e.g., BioWin, WaterCAD, Bentley Flowmaster) preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage engineering teams and subconsultants
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience building and maintaining client relationships
- Ability to lead marketing efforts including proposal writing and conference attendance
- Strong project delivery skills including QA/QC and budget management
- Experience supervising and mentoring staff
- Willingness to travel out-of-state for client meetings (up to six times per year)
- Proficiency in construction support tasks (e.g., RFIs, submittal reviews, change orders)
