Assistant Project Manager
Our client is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale water treatment plant construction projects based out of San Jose, CA. This role is ideal for a construction professional looking to grow their project management career while working on critical water infrastructure projects throughout California.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing water treatment plant construction projects
- Support day-to-day project operations, including scheduling, cost tracking, document control, and reporting
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owners
- Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Assist with site meetings, progress meetings, and safety meetings
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and schedules
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working on water treatment plant construction projects
- Prior experience on projects located in California is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods for water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Familiarity with project scheduling, cost controls, and construction documentation processes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management or scheduling software is a plus
- Ability to work on-site in the San Jose area and travel to project sites as required
