BAS Programmer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Building Automation System (BAS) Programmer with hands-on experience in line-by-line programming for commercial and industrial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of BAS platforms (such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.) and demonstrate proficiency in writing, modifying, and debugging line code for DDC controllers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and implement line-by-line control code for HVAC and energy management systems.
Customize, test, and troubleshoot control logic on various BAS platforms and controllers.
Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and other standard protocols.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure system functionality and compliance with project specifications.
Interpret mechanical drawings, control diagrams, and sequence of operations to translate into efficient control programs.
Conduct site commissioning, tuning of control loops, and functional testing of building systems.
Maintain and document program changes, backups, and version control.
Provide technical support and training to internal staff and clients as needed.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in BAS programming, with emphasis on direct line code (text-based logic).
Proven experience with at least one major BAS platform (e.g., Niagara 4, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell Spyder, Distech, etc.).
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, sequences of operation, and control theory.
Experience with communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
