An established heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Bridge Superintendent to oversee bridge construction projects throughout the state of Georgia. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, enjoys variety in project locations, and is comfortable traveling statewide as work is secured.
Position Overview
The Bridge Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations on bridge projects, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and quality standards. Projects will vary in size and location, requiring flexibility and a proactive leadership style.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site bridge construction activities
- Coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
- Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with all regulations
- Interpret plans, specifications, and schedules to guide field execution
- Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and stakeholders
- Monitor production, schedule adherence, and quality control
- Assist with problem-solving and field adjustments as conditions change
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bridge Superintendent or in a similar leadership role on bridge projects
- Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Willingness and ability to travel statewide to active job sites
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
