Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in Public Works to join our growing Phoenix office. As part of a nationally recognized consulting firm, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact infrastructure projects that serve communities across Arizona and the Southwest. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of municipal projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of sustainable, resilient public infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the design and delivery of public works projects including roadway improvements, water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, and municipal site development.
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports in compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction support services.
  • Assist in proposal development, project scoping, and budgeting.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Experience

  • 5-10+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on public works projects.
  • Proven experience working with municipal clients such as cities, counties, and utility districts.
  • Familiarity with ADOT, MAG, and local agency standards and procedures.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM).
  • Strong understanding of permitting processes, utility coordination, and construction documentation.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
