Summary:
This opportunity is with a well‑established multidisciplinary civil engineering, planning, and surveying firm known for delivering high‑quality land development and public infrastructure projects across the Western United States. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and collaborative partnership, Rick Engineering supports a diverse client base including municipalities, private developers, transportation agencies, and utility providers.
They are seeking a Civil Project Manager to join their Centennial office. This individual will lead and manage civil engineering design projects, oversee project teams, maintain client relationships, and provide technical expertise across land development, public works, and site infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead civil engineering design for a variety of land development and public infrastructure projects including:
- Residential, commercial, and industrial site development
- Roadway and transportation improvements
- Grading and earthwork design
- Water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
- Drainage and hydrology design
- Prepare, review, and oversee civil improvement plans, reports, specifications, and calculations.
- Ensure compliance with municipal, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements.
- Provide QA/QC review for design deliverables prepared by project engineers and CAD staff.
Project & Client Management
- Manage multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, city reviewers, utility agencies, and project partners.
- Lead proposal development, fee estimates, and project pursuit strategy.
- Build and maintain long‑term client relationships and support business development initiatives.
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineering staff.
Field & Construction Support
- Perform site investigations and coordinate with contractors during construction.
- Respond to RFIs, submittals, and field issues with practical, timely engineering recommendations.
- Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance with approved plans.
- Collaborate with survey teams and construction inspectors to resolve design or field challenges.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 6+ years of civil engineering experience with a strong emphasis on land development and/or municipal infrastructure.
- Proficiency in civil design software such as:
- Civil 3D, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, or similar programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to oversee project engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
