CM/CI Dept Manager
The firm is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to lead the Construction Inspection and Construction Management (CI/CM) department. This leadership role is based in the Lawrenceville, NJ office and will primarily support our valued clients, including the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) and the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).
As the CI/CM Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction inspection and management services. This includes strategic planning, business development, personnel management, and technical oversight. You will play a key role in maintaining client relationships, ensuring project excellence, and driving the growth of CI/CM practice.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement:
Proactively promote the firm's CI/CM capabilities to existing and prospective clients. Lead efforts in identifying new business opportunities and expanding service offerings.Proposal Development:
Prepare comprehensive technical and cost proposals in response to RFPs and solicitations. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are competitive and aligned with client expectations.Project Oversight:
Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple assignments. Ensure quality control and compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.Team Leadership & Staffing:
Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified construction inspection professionals for both field and office roles. Assign personnel to projects based on expertise and availability, and provide ongoing mentorship and support.Field Operations & Site Visits:
Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and support inspection staff. Address field inquiries and ensure inspectors have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.Collaborate with design engineers to evaluate constructability, assess construction schedules, and develop traffic control strategies. Provide post-design services including drawing reviews and coordination with Resident Engineers.
- Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in CI/CM, specifically on bridge, roadway, and drainage infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record as a client-approved Project Manager on multiple CI/CM assignments.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a strong ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
