Role Overview
The Controls Engineer will support the design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems. This role involves working across the full project lifecycle, including design, programming, testing, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support feasibility studies and assist with cost estimation
- Define system requirements based on client specifications
- Design system architecture (PLC, HMI, DCS, I/O, and network infrastructure)
- Develop electrical control panel designs and schematics
- Specify instrumentation and control components
- Program and implement PLC systems (Rockwell preferred)
- Develop HMI/SCADA applications (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, Ignition, etc.)
- Support historian and data analytics solutions
- Lead or assist with system startup and commissioning
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Communicate project progress, risks, and costs to internal stakeholders
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Travel to client sites for project execution (approx. 20-25%)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred)
- Strong knowledge of process control, PLC programming, and SCADA/HMI systems
- Experience with industrial communication protocols and control system design
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Motivated to learn and adapt to new technologies
