Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 plus commission

My client is seeking a creative and driven professional to join their team as Director of Business Development. This role is focused on driving growth and nurturing client relationships. This company helps clients achieve their sustainability goals while maximizing savings and operational efficiency. They specialize in energy procurement, infrastructure solutions, and market intelligence. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who can advise clients on a wide range of sustainability and efficiency strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
The Director of Business Development will:
- Build and maintain strong client partnerships, identifying new opportunities while supporting existing relationships
- Advise clients on our full suite of energy solutions, including site selection, grid interconnection, infrastructure, generation and load optimization, behind-the-meter assets, renewable and energy storage purchases, energy procurement, and regulatory market insights
- Lead the entire sales process-from lead generation to deal closure-ensuring a seamless and high-quality client experience
- Serve as a trusted advisor on energy strategies and solutions
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings to drive growth and visibility
- Stay current on market trends and competitive activity to inform strategy and enhance client value
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Energy Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role-preferably in the energy sector
- 10+ years of experience in large C&I power or gas procurement, advisory, or infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience in or with the high-performance computing space
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and maintaining strong client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decision-making
- Deep understanding of energy markets, products, and industry dynamics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MBA or related field)
- Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Business Energy Professional (BEP)
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales automation tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and develop strategic sales plans
- Established network within the energy industry and relevant professional associations
Travel:
- Willingness to travel 20-80% as needed to build relationships and pursue business opportunities
