Overview

We are working with a leading live events and experiential production company to appoint a Director of Operations to lead and scale their New York market.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operational delivery of high-impact live events, including corporate events, conferences, and experiential activations.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage complex logistics, lead cross-functional teams, and implement scalable processes, while ensuring seamless execution across multiple concurrent projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full operational lifecycle of live events from pre-production through onsite execution and post-event closeout
  • Lead and manage production, logistics, warehouse, and onsite delivery teams
  • Develop and implement operational processes, SOPs, and efficiencies to support growth and scalability
  • Collaborate closely with sales, creative, and client services teams to ensure alignment on project delivery
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost control, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within margin
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including freight, staging, fabrication, and technical partners
  • Ensure all events are delivered to the highest standards in quality, safety, and client experience
  • Drive team development, hiring, and performance management across operational functions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve onsite challenges in high-pressure environments

What We're Looking For

Must-have:

  • 8+ years of experience in live events, AV production, or experiential event operations
  • Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role (Head of Ops, Director, Senior Operations Manager, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of event production, logistics, and onsite execution
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale events simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale teams
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and profitability

Nice to have:

  • Experience working within New York or major metro event markets
  • Background in agency, production company, or AV provider environments
  • Exposure to scenic fabrication, staging, or technical production
