Electrical Engineer
A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join its team in Raleigh, NC. The firm specializes in delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions for a variety of building systems across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, and government.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design for buildings, excellent project management skills, and a passion for delivering client-focused solutions. A PE license is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, and institutional facilities.
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify design intent and resolve issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design for building systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
