Electrical Engineer
A well‑established engineering and design firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system design for complex healthcare projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging, mission‑critical facilities-including hospitals, medical centers, and specialized care environments-while collaborating with experienced multidisciplinary teams. The position is fully remote and supports a diverse portfolio of healthcare projects throughout the Eastern United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee electrical design for healthcare new construction and renovation projects
- Design and coordinate systems including lighting and controls, power distribution, emergency and essential electrical systems, and fire alarm systems
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, FGI Guidelines, and local authority requirements
- Serve as Engineer of Record, signing and sealing documents as required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical mentorship to junior staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain is required
- 15+ years of electrical engineering design experience
- Strong background in healthcare facility design
- Demonstrated expertise in lighting, power distribution, emergency power systems, and fire alarm/life safety systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fully remote environment
