Electrical Engineer
About the Role
This role is primarily responsible for reviewing and managing external engineering deliverables, interpreting and QA/QC'ing single-line diagrams and related drawing sets, and providing internal technical leadership across the project life-cycle.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience with both small- and large-scale PV and BESS systems, particularly within C&I solar applications (rooftop, carport, and ground-mount). This position requires someone who can work independently under tight deadlines, exercise strong technical judgment, and represent the company in all electrical engineering matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary internal electrical engineering lead across C&I solar and BESS projects
- Review, interpret, and QA/QC single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and full drawing packages produced by external engineering partners
- Manage and coordinate external design firms and engineering consultants
- Review system designs for technical soundness, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards and project requirements
- Evaluate and validate equipment sizing and selection for PV and BESS systems
- Support projects through development, engineering review, permitting, and construction as the internal electrical engineering authority
- Provide limited internal drawings, edits, and markups as needed
- Review projects for alignment with ISO-NE, CAISO, and PJM standards
- Help establish and maintain consistent internal engineering review and QA/QC practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Strong understanding of small- and large-scale PV and BESS systems, specifically C&I solar (rooftop, carport, and ground-mount)
- Ability to serve as the technical representative for all electrical engineering matters
- Knowledge of ISO-NE, CAISO, and PJM standards
- Proven ability to interpret and QA/QC single-line diagrams
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of equipment sizing and selection
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IBC, and ASCE 7-22+
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Familiarity with PVsyst and Helioscope
Preferred Qualifications
- Broader national ISO knowledge
- PE license in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or other U.S. states
