Job Title: Field Project Manager (Remote - Travel Required in Western PA & Eastern OH)
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
My client is seeking a highly capable and experienced Field Project Manager to lead operations across multiple electrical distribution construction projects. This remote role requires regular travel throughout Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio to oversee field teams, ensure project milestones are met, and maintain strong client relationships. The Field PM will supervise General Foremen, manage contract execution, and ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are upheld across all active job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relations & Service Delivery
- Act as the primary field contact for clients, ensuring consistent communication and proactive issue resolution.
- Attend client meetings and site visits to maintain strong relationships and ensure project alignment.
- Identify and communicate potential business opportunities to leadership.
- Develop and maintain client service plans tailored to each account.
Project & Contract Management
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all contracts, subcontracts, specifications, and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and negotiate changes or additions as needed.
- Secure necessary permits and licenses for field operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise General Foremen through regular site visits and virtual meetings.
- Set performance goals and conduct evaluations in collaboration with leadership.
- Promote professional development and training opportunities for field staff.
- Implement and monitor operational policies, procedures, and strategies.
Scheduling & Production Oversight
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor work progress and maintain accurate production records.
- Lead storm restoration efforts and maintain readiness rosters.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety programs.
- Conduct incident investigations and coordinate with internal teams on claims.
- Oversee on-the-job training and compliance with safety regulations.
Resource & Equipment Management
- Manage vehicle and equipment logistics, including inspections, maintenance, and vendor coordination.
- Track inventory and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
- Optimize fleet and equipment usage across job sites.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure high-quality work across all field operations, with a focus on electrical distribution standards.
- Implement quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain detailed records and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Oversee invoicing, expense reporting, and cost tracking.
- Participate in financial reviews, bid preparation, and pricing strategies.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of field management experience, including 3+ years as a General Foreman.
- Experience in electrical distribution construction or utility infrastructure projects.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical Certification.
- Licensed Pesticide/Herbicide Applicator (R/W subclass).
- Certified Tree Worker or Certified Arborist (ISA).
- Must be 18+ (or 21+ for interstate driving), pass physical abilities test, and drug/alcohol screening.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in Construction or Business Management.
- CDL (Class B or higher).
- Conversational Spanish proficiency.
- CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification.
Additional Information
- Emergency response may be required outside of normal work hours.
- Duties may shift temporarily to cover for absent team members.
