Position Overview

They are seeking a qualified and experienced Forensic Engineer to join their team on a contractual basis in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is ideal for a licensed engineer with a background in structural or civil engineering who excels in investigative work and technical analysis.

This is a flexible, remote and field-based position, offering autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in a collaborative environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
  • Analyze structural failures, water intrusions, construction defects, and code compliance issues.
  • Perform on-site inspections, document findings, and gather relevant evidence.
  • Prepare detailed, objective, and technically sound expert reports.
  • Provide litigation support, including deposition and courtroom testimony when required.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, insurance professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines and maintain accurate documentation.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic engineering, structural design, or construction defect analysis.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with CAD, structural analysis tools, and forensic documentation methods is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for site inspections.
