About the Role:
We are partnered with an established Geotechnical, CMT and Environmental firm with multiple offices across Florida who are seeking an experienced and dynamic Geotechnical Team Lead to spearhead their Transportation-focused Geotechnical team in Fort Lauderdale. This leadership role is critical in managing a growing backlog of transportation infrastructure projects, particularly with key clients such as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and other regional authorities.
The ideal candidate will bring 15-20 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on transportation infrastructure, and a well-established professional network within the Florida transportation ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of geotechnical engineers and project managers focused on transportation projects.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for transportation infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation clients, including FDOT, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior and mid-level staff.
- Collaborate with other discipline leads and business development teams to pursue and win new transportation projects.
- Ensure compliance with FDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is required.
- 15-20 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with a strong focus on transportation infrastructure.
- Proven experience working with or alongside the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and delivering complex transportation projects.
- Strong understanding of FDOT geotechnical design standards and procedures.
- Excellent communication, client relationship, and project management skills.
